When we finished Bronze Age there were a few tracks leftover that I couldn't find a place for on the record and that made me sad. I write in a very concept-heavy way and knew these tracks would never sound right on another album. So Billy and I got together and made a nice little four-track home for them with Animal EP. These are songs that are sort of from the dark underbelly of the Bronze Age sessions — a bit scuzzier and more psychedelic. We worked on this very quickly and finished everything in about six weeks.
